Part of the 2013 Westminster Education Forum National Curriculum Seminar Series.

As the Government concludes its National Curriculum review, this Westminster Education Forum seminar focuses on the content of the new curriculum for Languages for each Key Stage, due to be implemented in schools from September 2014. It will bring together key policymakers and stakeholders including school and college leaders, teaching unions, universities and employers.

Delegates will also discuss wider issues in languages education including the challenges of attracting high-quality language graduates into teaching; how primary schools can prepare to teach languages at Key Stage 2 as it becomes a statutory requirement from 2014; and the likely impact of the English Baccalaureate upon the uptake of languages at Key Stage 4.

Speakers include a panel address from Dr Terry Lamb, Senior Lecturer in Education, University of Sheffield and President, Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Langues Vivantes (FIPLV).
