BREMEN AKS RESEARCH AWARD
FOR ACADEMIC WORK INVESTIGATING THE LEARNING
AND TEACHING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN HIGHER
EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

ANNOUNCEMENT 2015

The AKS Bremen Research Award for academic work investigating the teaching and learning of foreign languages at higher educational institutions will be presented for the third time at the Bremen Symposion on February 20, 2015. The prize is worth €1000, and for non-published papers, includes the free publication of the winning
paper in the „Fremdsprachen in Lehre und Forschung“ (FLF) series by the AKS publishing house.

The prize will be jointly presented by the Fremdsprachenzentrum
der Hochschulen im Land Bremen (FZHB), the Arbeitskreis der Sprachenzentren
in Deutschland (AKS) and the viadrina sprachen gmbh. The award acknowledges outstanding research in the field of foreign language learning and teaching
by junior researchers. The papers, demonstrating both a basis in scientific research as well
as relevance in practice, shall introduce innovative impulses for the analysis, monitoring or
management of foreign language learning and teaching processes in autonomous or classroom learning contexts in higher education or comparable
institutions. PhD theses or comparable academic papers written at European universities may be submitted forconsideration. The papers may be unpublished or
published; however, the date of publication must not be more than three years ago.

A commission of experts will make the selection. Five printed copies of the paper, in German or English, shall be submitted by post to:
