Gotsiridze

THE FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DES PROFESSEURS DE LANGUES VIVANTES (FIPLV)

The International Federation of Language Teacher Associations extends its condolences on the death of Professor David Gotsiridze, FIPLV member, President of the Multilingual Association of Georgia (MAG), Doctor of Philology.

David Gotsiridze was a member of the TSU (Tbilisi State University) Academic Council and Head of the TSU Slavic Studies-Scientific Institute. He was a broad-minded scientist, the author of dozens of scientific papers.

Furthermore, David Gotsiridze was a sensitive, kind, sympathetic person, a selfless citizen of his country, and a remarkable scientist of world renown.

FIPLV shares the grief and sympathy of Professor Gotsiridze’s family, colleagues and the scientific community.

We are saddened to announce that Dr Cecilia Odé, former FIPLV Editor of Publications and member of both FIPLV Executive and World Council, passed away 9th January 2019. Cecilia was much loved by everyone she came into contact with and our world is a little poorer for not having her in it with us. Please find here an obituary for Cecilia. FIPLV is sad to announce the passing of Professor Dr. Reinhold Freudenstein. With Reinhold’s death on 24 October 2015 the Federation has lost a first-rate former Officer, Secretary General from 1972 to 1977, Editor from 1977 to 1994 and Honorary Counsellor from 1995.
