Mrs. Dr. Eva Berglová (*1943) had been teaching German continuously from the early 1970suntil 2013. Due to her excellent theoretical background and great pedagogical talent, she has  been one of the leading representatives of foreign language didactics in the Czech Republic as an author of textbooks, grammar books, recordings for phonetic exercises used nationwide at  that time, expert works for publishers of pedagogical literature (selected bibliography with more  than 200 items). Professor Kinga Klaudy, Professor Emeritus and Doctor of Science (DSC), is a pioneer in Translation Studies at a national and international level. She is the founder of the Department of Translation and Interpreting and the PhD program in Translation Studies at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary. With outstanding contributions to the field across a career of more than four decades, he has significantly influenced teachers of languages and languages education scholars in Australia, and internationally.Andrew studied Chinese at The University of Adelaide, and has achieved a level of facility with and knowledge of Chinese language and culture rare in Australia for those of non-Chinese background.  Read more

Assoc. Prof. Irina Ivanova, PhD, is a lecturer in English language teaching at the Department of English Studies in Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen, Bulgaria. She has been working as a university lecturer and researcher for more than 20 years, teaching a number of disciplines in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes in the field of ELT and teacher education, and supervising trainees’ school-based internship. Katarzyna Karpińska-Szaj is a full professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, and specialises in French applied linguistics. The nomination of Katarzyna Karpińska-Szaj to receive the International FIPLV Award was unanimously put forward by the Board of the Polish Association of Modern Languages in appreciation of her commitment to theoretical and teaching work related to French applied linguistics and especially her contribution to special needs language pedagogy, with particular focus on deaf and hard-of-hearing learners.
