Weronika Wilczyńska

Professor Weronika Wilczyńska has played a key role in the organisational activities of the neophilological community, both in Poland and internationally. As president of the Modern Language Association of Poland (2001–2007), a long-standing member of its governing body (2007–2013), and Secretary of the Central European Region of the International Federation of Language Teachers’ Associations (FIPLV) (1996–2001), she has played an active role in integrating the community of foreign language teachers and researchers, and strengthening international scientific and didactic cooperation.

Her work has also had a direct, practical impact on improving the quality of foreign language teaching in Poland. She has many years of experience training foreign language teachers, conducting methodological workshops, and assessing curricula, textbooks, and teaching materials as a ministerial
expert. She has also served as Chair of the Main Committee of the French Language Olympiad, promoting high educational standards and motivating young people to improve their language skills.

Professor Weronika Wilczyńska’s entire body of work, including her outstanding scientific achievements, immense contribution to staff training, real impact on educational practice, and longstanding organisational and international activities, exemplifies an exceptional and lasting impact on
the development of language teaching and learning. The numerous honours and distinctions awarded to her confirm the importance of these achievements. The General Board of the Modern Language Association of Poland wholeheartedly endorses Professor Weronika Wilczyńska’s candidacy for the FIPLV award.
